Eagles and Storm take Albuquerque Academy Soccer Invitational

The 2023 Albuquerque Academy Soccer Invitational ended on Saturday. A total of 16 teams participated, including 8 boys and 8 girls teams. Hobbs won the boys’ championship, while Cleveland emerged as the champions in the girls’ category.

The Eagles won the tournament for the third consecutive year by defeating Sandia Prep, Los Alamos, and the host team Academy with a final score of 2-1.

In the girls bracket, the Cleveland Storm reached the finals by defeating Farmington and Hobbs. In the finals, they faced the host team Chargers and won 2-1 in the second overtime period with a golden goal.
