Lobos Fall Short To Utah State in Double OT 44-41

Albuquerque, N.M. – FOOTBALL

Utah State quarterback Levi Williams scrambled 13 yards for a touchdown on a broken play in the second overtime. This secured a 44-41 win for Utah State over New Mexico. This victory guarantees Utah State a spot in a bowl game.

UNM trailed throughout the game but managed to make a comeback from a 10-point deficit in the final minutes. They ended the season with a 4-8 overall record and a 2-6 record in the Mountain West.

Utah State leads the all time series with New Mexico at 17-13. Utah State has seven straight victories against New Mexico with four straight in Albuquerque.

GAME NOTES

New Mexico finished with 539 yards of offense.

The Lobos set season-highs for penalties (15) and penalty yards (155)

Jacory Croskey-Merritt became the first player in school history to have back-to-back 200-yard games rushing.

Devon Dampier rushed for two touchdowns and passed for another.

Dereck Moore and Alec Marenco combined for 23 tackles in the game.
