Lobos Rally Late to Take Down Idaho State in Home Opener

Week 2 brought the Lobos back to Albuquerque — and back into the win column. In front of 17,639 fans, their largest opening-night crowd since 2018, New Mexico rallied in the fourth quarter to defeat Idaho State 32–22.

Star of the Night: Scottre Humphrey

Running back Scottre Humphrey was electric, rushing for 141 yards and two touchdowns, including a momentum-shifting 61-yard burst. His ability to break tackles and extend drives kept the Bengals’ defense on its heels.

Defensive Anchor

Linebacker Jaxton Eck led a gritty defensive effort, piling up 15 tackles, forcing a fumble, and bringing pressure that disrupted Idaho State’s rhythm.

The Lobos trailed in the fourth quarter but stormed back with 15 unanswered points in the final 10 minutes, showing resilience and poise under pressure.
