In a class 5A quarterfinal, the La Cueva Bears and Hobbs Eagles squared off. The Bears eventually pulled away with a flurry of key takeaways and a slam dunk show in the later half of the fourth.
Drew Bramlett paced the Bears with 22 PTS, 2-3 3PT, and 5 REB. Senior Hunter Butler electrified The Pit and his team with three monstrous dunks to help seal the game in the fourth quarter. He finished with 15 PTS in total.
Hobbs’ Braddock Beaty put up 16 PTS and had 3 STL on the day.
La Cueva now awaits the winner of the Volcano Vista vs Las Cruces game scheduled for later today.
