ALBUQUERQUE — The No. 2 Fort Sumner/House Foxes delivered a clutch fourth-quarter performance to defeat the No. 1 Logan Longhorns 66–63 in a tightly contested NMAA Class A boys state championship, securing the combined program’s fourth state title.

Logan set the tone early, building a 10–4 lead after the first quarter behind strong interior play. The Foxes responded in the second, igniting a 19–7 scoring run to flip momentum and take a 23–17 advantage into halftime. Jordan Holland paced Fort Sumner/House with 14 first-half points, while Logan controlled the paint with 12 points inside before the break.

The Longhorns stormed back in the third quarter, erupting for 26 points to reclaim the lead and carry a five-point advantage into the final period. Logan’s balanced attack and rebounding presence fueled the rally, setting up a dramatic finish.

Fort Sumner/House answered with its best stretch of the night in the fourth, pouring in 28 points behind hot shooting from Holland and Tra’von Bonds. Holland finished with a game-high 31 points, shooting 10-of-19 from the field, 4-of-9 from three, and 7-of-11 at the line, while Bonds added 21 points and six rebounds. Logan countered with three players in double figures, led by Hayden Bruhn’s 17 points and 11 rebounds, Mason Wallin’s 16 points and 14 boards, and Rylan Montoya’s 14 points, but the Foxes held on for the three-point victory.

After the game, Fort Sumner/House head coach Brad Holland emphasized his team’s composure, saying, “Just relax and play. It’s going to all pay off.” With the championship win, the Foxes continue their strong tradition since the schools combined, capturing their fourth state title and cementing another memorable run.
