The Albuquerque High Bulldogs continued their dominant run through district play with a 3–0 sweep over the Los Lunas Tigers on Tuesday night, posting set scores of 25–14, 25–15, and 25–23. The win keeps Albuquerque perfect in district play at 4–0 and improves its overall record to 16–3, further solidifying the Bulldogs as one of the top volleyball programs in Class 5A.
Albuquerque wasted no time setting the tone, controlling the pace in the opening two sets with strong serving and clean execution. The Bulldogs’ front line was especially effective, limiting Los Lunas’ attack while converting high-percentage opportunities at the net.
Senior #3 Kaelynn Ashley led the way with timely kills that swung momentum in Albuquerque’s favor during key rallies. The Bulldogs’ balanced offensive attack and consistent defensive play allowed every player to make an impact, showcasing the team’s depth and chemistry.
Los Lunas showed grit in the third set, tightening up its serve-receive and pushing the Bulldogs deep into extended rallies. The Tigers built late momentum to make it a close contest, but Albuquerque closed the door with steady play down the stretch to secure the 25–23 win and the match sweep.
With the victory, Albuquerque remains undefeated in district play and continues to build momentum heading into the final stretch of the season. The Bulldogs’ mix of veteran leadership and depth across the lineup positions them as a top contender in the upcoming postseason, while Los Lunas will look to regroup and gain ground in district competition.
