The Gallup Bengals and Albuquerque Academy Chargers faced off in a NMAA girls 4A semifinal. The Bengals overcame a 6 point halftime deficit to beat the Chargers with a final of 54-44.
Academy came out strong keeping up with Gallup in the first quarter. In the second the Chargers outscored the Bengals 18-11 to take a 6 point lead into the half.
Gallup turned it on in the third quarter and never looked back, outscoring the Chargers 21-12 in third and 12-5 in the fourth.
Gallup had three players with ten plus points on the day. Mykeia Vicenti scored 13 PTS and had 5 STLS. Payton Johnson and Kayden Tsosie had 12 a piece.
Gallup advances to the finals to face the winner of the Kirtland Central vs Hope Christian game.
